Nonprofit Profile | The Sadly Necessary Effort to Reduce an Awful Crime

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and if I loathed all who commit that horrid crime before parenthood, it absolutely incenses me know that I have two daughters of my own. The National Sexual Violence Resource Center was created by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape just eight years ago, but thanks to funding from the CDC, it has managed to ramp up quickly. It begins with collecting and disseminating information and other resources, then works with other organizations and individuals seeking to understand and eliminate sexual violence. NSVRC’s support of those who work directly with victims allows those groups to do what they do best, armed with the tools they need to treat and comfort the violated. As parents but, more importantly, as human beings, we owe the dedicated folks at the center a debt of gratitude. | 501(c)
