Norman Chad and Lon McEachern

Norman Chad and Lon McEachern make one hell of a duo. I highly doubt their announcing tandem could be topped by another. Still, Chad has me wondering. I used to think his schtick was all in humor, but now I’m starting to think he’s quite serious with some of the things he says.

He recently married for the third time, but seemed very unenthusiastic about it. Almost as if he was talked into trying another marriage sure to fail. Without much doubt, I think it will fail as he is resigned to that fact. He laughs it off, but again, how much of this is serious?

Another curious thing about Norman Chad is his propensity to be enchanted with the looks of men. In the video below he confides to Lon and the rest of us, “Lon, I’m starting to grow very fond of looking at George Danzer.” (See time mark 2:42) This is after referring to Danzer as “dashing” at the beginning of the video. He has also commented on Marco Traniello, Jennifer Harmon’s husband, in the same fashion as well as many others.

Another question I have for Chad is why is he so short with his interviews? He’s a chatterbox in the broadcast booth, but his interviews always seem awkward and forced to me. To be sure, to examine Norman Chad at work opens more questions than it does answers.

What cannot be denied is the great chemistry Chad and McEachern share. Lon sets ‘em up and Norman knocks ‘em down with a unique style of humor and slight wit. Lon does a great job of balancing any off comments with the best segway polite-laugh I’ve ever heard in my life. That guy could segway a bad wedding toast into a bull riding contest.
