Retirement Living TV, an Emmy award winning cable network that caters to adults 50 years old and older, will celebrate World Alzheimer’s Day by airing “Not Fade Away” on Sept. 21. This exclusive TV special was put together in partnership with the Blanchette Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.
Part of the special focuses on the mother of Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia. In 1992, his mother, Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller, passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s.
Said Rockefeller, who founded the BRNI: “I applaud RLTV’s and the cable industry’s commitment to helping raise awareness around Alzheimer’s disease. “Not Fade Away” reminds all of us of the devastation that this disease inflicts on millions of people each day, and the families who must provide for their loving, long-term care.”
Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative and incurable form of dementia. Usually diagnosed in patients after the age of 65, it is terminal disease. Experts estimate that more than 25 people in the world suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.
