Now on DVD: “Revolutionary Road”

Revolutionary Road is now available on DVD and I think it’s definitely worth seeing.  The movie reunites Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio (who co-starred in Titanic) and the result is nothing less than spectacular.

Set in the 1950s, Frank and April Wheeler (DiCaprio and Winslet) are a young married couple who move to the suburbs after they have children.  Once filled with vibrancy and a zest for life (and each other), they suddenly discover that their new conventional lifestyle is ruining their lives.

April, desperate to save her marriage and help her husband recapture some of the passion he used to possess, comes up with a plan.  Frank reluctantly agrees and, just when they are feeling like things could change for the better, miscommunications and unexpected events threaten to derail their plans.

It really is an excellent plot, the depiction of life in the 50s is outstanding and the chemistry between Winslet and DiCaprio is undeniable.  Rent this movie (or buy it!).
