Now on DVD: The Haunting in Connecticut

The Haunting in Connecticut is allegedly based on true events and tells the tale of a family that inherits more than they bargained for after buying a home and moving to upstate Connecticut.
When they encounter some dark, supernatural forces, they learn that they beautiful Victorian home has a troubling history – it was once a funeral parlor where the owner’s son, Jonah, served as a demonic messenger. Apparently, some pretty shady things happened and spiritual entities were allowed to cross over. Things get really bad for the family when Jonah returns to his former home.
So, even though this was almost universally panned by critics (and many viewers), I still haven’t seen it because I’m creeped out by the “based on a true story” type of horror movies. Amityville was the main reason for this and to let you know how easily I’m spooked, I was tormented by the scenes from the relatively lightweight film The Mothman Prophecies for days.
