Obama: Move to White House is “Like Going from Xbox to Atari”

After being sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama and his family moved into the White House and, I’m guessing, he was a bit surprised by how out-of-date some of the technology is.

Barack and Michelle Obama Obama, who successfully fought to keep his Blackberry, used modern means to reach potential voters during his campaign.  He had email messages sent regularly to subscribers (my inbox was full) and he used other tools like Twitter

It must have been quite a shock to arrive at the White House and find “old computers outfitted with ancient versions of Microsoft operating systems, rather than the Macs” Obama and his team had become accustomed to.  In referring to the situation, Obama’s spokesman, Bill Burton, said: "It is kind of like going from an Xbox to an Atari."

Well, it’s nice that the Xbox is being equated with high technology here.  Too bad when it came down to choosing a console, the Obama family set up a Wii at the White House.  *sigh*
