Ohio-based Gioninos is mourning the tragic loss of a valued member of its franchise family, Twinsburg Police Officer and Gionino’s Pizzeria owner Joshua Miktarian. Officer Miktarian was shot and killed in the line of duty on Sunday July 13th while conducting a traffic stop.
Gioninos has replaced its website homepage with a touching tribute to its fallen franchise owner and his family:
Officer Miktarian had served with the Twinsburg Police Department for 11 years, was a Gionino’s Pizzeria franchise owner for 12 years and also served as a part-time officer with the Uniontown Police Department. He is survived by his wife, who is also a police officer, and 3-month-old daughter.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and co-workers of Josh and Holly. Josh will be sorely missed and his memory never forgotten.
Donations to:
Josh Miktarian Fund
c/o the Twinsburg Police Association
Made at any Fifth Third Bank, or the Twinsburg Police Department
Our condolences go out to Officer Miktarian’s family.

Sean,
Thanx for posting this. Word is he was a great guy.
Really sad.

Very sad. From all accounts, an amazing person and a tragic loss. I hand it to Gionino’s for not only creating a tribute, but making it the home page for a while.
With all this talk about companies and numbers of “units,” it sometimes gets missed that franchise owners are real people, members of the community with families.
It’s also easy to forget that every police officer puts his or her life at risk every time they answer a call or make a traffic stop. Especially sad when the life of someone who is working so hard to make a contribution can be ended so senselessly.
But, by God, let’s not infringe on the rights of these idiots to keep and bear arms.
Yeah. The NRA.
Puke.
