OJ Mayo – one game closer to the NBA

November 10, 2007 by Rich Carlson

The much anticipated debut of freshman sensation OJ Mayo of USC went according to plan Saturday afternoon…except for the part about USC winning the game.

Mayo scored 32 points in his first game in  Trojan uniform, but the Mercer Bears from the Atlantic Sun conference upset USC 96-81. Trojan fans had better enjoy every single minute that Mayo is on the floor this year, because as soon as the final whistle blows next March, Mayo will be on his way out the door.

It’ll be interesting to see how Mayo fares in the NBA. He’s going to have to go to a team that will live with his ball hogging tendencies.

  2. Rich Carlson says:

The way Mayo can light it up, teams will be lining up to grab him in the draft. Yes, he’ll be a ball hog, but he can fill it up when he is on.
