Ok, I Will Play, But Differently

In October I said I wasn’t going to play Christmas at all… or something like that. Who was I kidding? Me apparently ;)
Babylune’s Group Writing Project got me thinking… I do have three adult children and four grandkids… how could I have thought I’d escape the present buying frenzy? Well, I won’t, but I will modify it. At least a bit.
For the three older grandkids, I’ll by ‘em each a book… and maybe a chewable book for the youngest if I can find one that wasn’t made in China. With luck I can do this online easily.
For the my three adult children, who really don’t need another thing imo, I’m going to choose a gift from Heifer International. I love the idea of giving a goat, or a flock of chickens or… in someone’s name to someone who not only needs the support to pay their own way in the world, but promises to give back just as soon as they are able.
It’s part of the world view I’m trying to learn and act on called A World That Works For All Beings.

I do the book buying thing for my relatives as well (or sheet music for the three relatives who can’t be pried away from their instruments).
This year, one is getting ready to move away to college next year. I got her a cookbook — she’s got about 9 months to make sure that she won’t starve at school, and her mother’s joined in by telling her that she’s now in charge of dinner.
Sounds like a great gift Thursday.
I like your idea, Anne. They even have rabbits. :-)
yes, and goats, and even a whole arc!
