		<description>It strikes me the best redesigns (shown on the link in your article) are the ones that add depth and 3D. Yet also stay simple. Like the Apple logo above: out with colour, add depth, a twinkle of a reflection and 3D. Pure class. Zap out the letters/brand name too (and still gain instant recognition) and it shows your logo has entered the league of icons.</description>

Apple&#039;s new design is perfect for the companies transition from nerdy to cool. 

I don&#039;t get Safeway&#039;s change, but Federal Express was genius to short the name and change the symbol.
