Olympic Skier up for NFL Draft

I have to admit, I was surprised. Skier and a Football player? Heh. Who would’ve thought?
I’m talking about Jeremy Bloom, who just represented the US in this year’s Winter Olympics in Torino – as a skier.
I’m not saying that skiers cannot be football players and vice versa. It’s just confusing, I reckon. I guess when the officials decided that Bloom can’t play football if he wants to ski, I can’t help but agree.
Bloom’s a star in both sports, I guess. I mean, he wouldn’t have competed in the Olympics if he wasn’t good enough to represent the US, right? But I’m skeptical about his true intentions. Some Olympians have been preparing themselves for their respective sports for years and their dreams started way back when they were young and I believe would’ve started on their training as soon as they are able. But his shifting from one sport to the other spells lack of commitment on either.
If he does make the NFL draft this year and lands a lucrative contract, I wonder how long before he changes his mind again? Did he finally make a decision on which sport he wants to commit to? If yes, kudos to you Mr. Bloom! However, if it’s all half-hearted, I wonder if there’ll be news about Bloom saying, “It’s Skiing for me after all.” Heh.
Fickle. Fickle.
Anyway, if you want to know more about all things American Football, head on over to Squib Kick.

Yeah I heard about him in the US coverage of the Games. From what I understand he’ll do well in the NFL and We’ll be covering the draft thoroughly this weekend at Squib Kick. :)
I have no doubt that he will. Perhaps that’s the problem. Bleh. Looking forward to the results. Cover it well. Hehehe.
