OMG! A New DS, Maybe? Did You Know?

So, three days after the hype asplodes, I am finally gesturing weakly in the direction of what might possibly be a major upgrade for the Nintendo DS. Perhaps—dare I say it—a new DS.
Just a bit late to the party, I know. I’ll line up for my horse whipping now. Gosh, such negligence on my part. You’d think that I…didn’t…really care.
This new phantom DS will reportedly include a camera (which may be intergrated into gameplay) and music playback. There is also talk of a larger screen and SD card Wii-DS data transfer, which I admit is worth lifting my jaded old head for.
I can’t really cite one specific reason why I lack excitement. I guess when a system is doing well to begin with and there are about fifty million games to play in my queue, I get annoyed with the prospect of starting all over again. Also, I already have a stupid head full of stupid worries. I don’t need more empty concerns about backwards compatibility.
Give it a few months. I’ll be chirping a different song, I’m sure. Even though I won’t be caught dead hauling around my DS as an iPod substitute.
Nintendo isn’t saying much on the topic yet, mainly just “Durr hurr hurr.” I imagine confirmation isn’t far behind, though. I’ll get the noisemakers.
