On A Personal Note: September 11th – 7 Years Later

It seems some what amazing to me that September 11th was 7 years ago. What a difference 7 years has made in my life. Seven years ago on September 11th I was living in Salt Lake City, UT working for a medium size organization as a Learning Manager. I was actually on my way to the airport that day to travel to corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania. I never got on a plane that day and my career changed drastically within six months. I went from flying first class, and working in a fairly successful company to unemployment in the blink of an eye.
Since September 11, 2001, I have worked a variety of jobs, graduated from Bible School and now in a completely different vocation. I am in full time ministry today. Will ever go back to corporate America? Who knows. But I doubt it. I am happy doing what I get to do today. The beautiful thing is, that I get to use my skills and abilities from my corporate career in my new career.
What about you? What has changed for you over the last 7 years? Has your career made significant changes, are you doing exactly the same thing you were doing 7 years ago? I would love to hear your story! Scroll down and share. Tags: September 11, Salt Lake City, UT, career change, career transition, what has changed?, Interview Chatter

That was a terrifying day 7 years ago. My life has drastically changed – going from working part time for a marketing firm to supporting myself and my children by selling on eBay, writing, and internet marketing.
Like you, I can’t imagine working a “regular” job again. Being an entrepreneur has its challenges, but I wouldn’t trade the freedom and independence for anything.
