on Andrea’s “Insider Information for Sale”
First blog post I read this morning, and since I haven’t found anything more interesting and rich. So I thought I would share my opinion with you.
Firstly, go ahead and read the concise post here: Insider Information for Sale
Isn’t it INTERESTING? What got me the most is the capacity (or lack of..) that so many marketers and sales people have when doing this kinds of guides or advertising in them. Do they think they’re fooling someone…or anyone?
The juicy part of the article is, that just as Andrea questioned herself on the authenticity and value of this guide, pretty much everyone else does as well, they’re just, either too disinterested or too lazy to ask someone! These kinds of guides (read…advertising on them) are losing validity and value for most consumers exposed to them.
Proof of it is the big amount of websites dedicated (100%) on letting users rate and review products, that go as wide as travel destinations, food joints, computer and hi-tech accessories, and even rave parties. Consumers are turning on to themselves to discover new things (read my previous post on the important Discovery has for consumers here) and try them out.
As for myself, I see a general shift on this kind of magazines, books, or brochures in the foreseeable future. Either they do something about it or they’ll end up no more alive than the dinosaurs.
What do you think?

“Consumers are turning on to themselves to discover new things… and try them out.”
Right on, Ron. In this age of the Internet, social media and wikis… it’s not only inauthentic, it’s downright silly to publish bogus “insider” guides like the one Andrea stumbled on.
Hi Ann, thanks so much for commenting on my blog :)
An yeah, I mean there isn’t much to say… we’re all living through this “change”. I guess the question now is how many companies that depended on this for business will adapt to the new modern ways.
Thanks,
Ron.
PS- By the way I love your work over at MP Fix… Keep it up! Such an inspiration.
