On DVD: “Taken”

Liam Neeson stars in the action-packed thriller, Taken, which was released on DVD earlier this week.  In the film, Neeson plays Bryan Mills, a retired CIA agent whose 17-year-old daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), was kidnapped by slave traders while traveling with friends in Paris.

I don’t know about you but even if it isn’t the best quality film, kidnapping stories always stress me out.  Maybe it’s because it’s every parent’s worst nightmare but these types of movies just get me really riled up.  Judging from the trailer, Liam tells the kidnappers that he’s got “special skills” and they he will find them and kill them (the reply?  “Good luck”).

I am not sure how the unedited scene will go but I found the part in this trailer where he tells his daughter to hide very strange.  They both know she’s going to be kidnapped and he gives her some instruction but it’s not revealed.  I don’t think this movie is going to win any awards but it could work as a nice, “lounge on the couch during the long weekend” type of movie.
