Opals to face Brazil in Olympic warm-up

A two-game series is scheduled between Team Australia and Team Brazil a few weeks before the Olympics in August, according to an article in The Age.

“It is a major coup for Australian basketball to have the second and fourth ranked women’s teams in the world playing in the country so close to the Beijing Games,” Basketball Australia chief executive Scott Derwin said.

“It’s Lauren Jackson, Penny Taylor and a full strength Opals side going up against a world class opponent in our own backyard.”

According to the article, this is the first time the Opals will be at full-strength since the Sydney Olympics.
