Okay, everyone, I’m taking a page out of Liz Strauss’ Successful Blog… let’s try her open mic comments evening..
I’ll pick a topic… let’s see, how about making money as a writer / editor / translator / freelancer. Yep, that will do.
We’ll start at 6:30 Pacific Time ’cause I’m in San Diego… and we’ll use the comments thingie to talk with each other… cool, no?
And yes, you can ask me questions and I’ll do my best, or you can give answers, or ask anyone else, or stick to the topic or not… no special software needed… just come play with us.
See you tomorrow!
Write well and often,

What a fun idea, Anne. Unfortunately, I may be out at that time. So I’ll say, “Hi,” now and wish you much success with this idea. If I do get back and the chat is still going on, I’ll stop by.
Not my idea… Liz over at SuccessfulBlog gets the credit at least as far as I’m concerned – hope you catch us.
My question lies relatively on how to become a freelance writer and if i will be taken seriously. I am just 17 and still in highschool, but i am whole heartedly interested in writing and I think that freelance writing would be a great job opportunity for me (to start out). I am interested to get you opinoin on whether an employer would hire me or not, especially because the only experience I have is writing essays and school papers.
Hi Symone, we’re over here

come on over and give me a couple of moments to answer your question
put all of your clips in one folder and compress it and then attach it as a clip file. It will save space and not look so messy as a number of attachments.
George, what’s a clip file?
I find writning in a down home style is better for me as I get more jobs that way. It is far easier for the reader too.
Thanks Anne for the very nice evening.
Its taken me a while to figure out how to make decent money doing what I love to do: working with the written word. But I’m happy to say after several years of gathering clips, that I’m on my way to doing more of my “right work”. I don’t think I would have done it any differently but it would have been great to speed up the process!
Edna, I’d love to have a guest article about how you did … no pay, some glory, let me know
