Just reading the very first post from Jason...

Yeah, it seems that every time my Windoze updates itself, all my MS apps say "MS so-and-so is not your primary so-and-so client. Do you want to make it your primary so-and-so client?" This has never been a big problem for me, bust since I stumbled on this discussion, I thought I'd add my comment...

SOLVED. Had the same problem and found the solution on another site. In Microsoft Office Tools, run the MS Office diagnostics program. Restart outlook and hopefully it work for you too.

same problem here, outlook won't be the default mail client. is really annoying to have the msg asking me. Also for me it just happen after 1 of the automatic update. Strange thing is that Firefox is doing the same thing for me, it won't be default web bowser. I am guessing is a bug from 1 of the windows update.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MENTIONED ABOVE. OUTLOOK 2007 INSTANT SEARCH AND DESKTOP SEARCH WILL FIND ALL OF MY OLD E-MAIL BUT NOT ONE OF MY CURRENT EMAILS IN MY INBOX OR OUTBOX. I TRIED UNINSTALLING THE INSTANT SEARCH AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.
