The House and Senate both voted to override (again) President Bush’s (re)veto of the $300 billion Farm Bill that was originally passed (and vetoed and reaffirmed, the first time) back in May, but due to a clerical error (omission of 34 pages in version sent to President Bush), it was necessary for Congress to re-vote on the bill.

And revote they did, and President Bush re-vetoed the bill, (re)citing his original problems with the legislation (continued subsidies to “wealthy” farmers).

And on Wednesday Congress again re-approved the bill (Senate, 80-14; House 317-109), overriding President Bush’s veto.

This is just the 2nd time (or is it the third?) that Congress has voted to override a Bush veto. Then again, President Bush didn’t veto any legislation until July, 2006 (over 5 years into his Presidency).
