Owen’s Out.

1That sucked big time. Waaaaaah.

He got injured during the England vs Sweden match. Blasted anterior cruciate ligament. Grrr. He buckled after doing a pass well into the 2nd minute of the game.

1I got massively teased by my dear brother and cousins because they know what a huge fan I am of Michael Owen. They told me that based on his recent performance, his career’s on a downhill. Gah! I just couldn’t accept it. Not for a great striker-forward who’s only 26! He’s got more in him… right? Heh. What do they know, huh?

3I’m feeling rotten but I’m trying to imagine how he must have felt leaving the World Cup behind. It’ll be another 4 years’ worth of wait before he gets another chance. That is, if he’s not too badly hurt to ever play again — even for Newcastle United. Knock on wood. Eeek. I’m not at all supertitious — well, not really — but when it comes to something like this, I wouldn’t want to wish it on any player, fan or not.

According to most of what’s in the news, it may just take 6-8 months of rehabilitation for this kind of injury. I wish him all the best.

The match was a draw at 2-2, by the way, so yea, the Brits have yet to beat the Swedes in the Cup.
