Parental Controls Coming to PS3

November 28, 2005 by Ingrid Diaz

Looks like Sony is jumping on the parental controls bandwagon for gaming. Previously, parental controls were offered on the PS2 for movies, but were missing for games. The PlayStation 3 will be another story entirely, as Sony Entertainment has at last, succumbed to others’ examples (i.e. Microsoft Xbox 360). Parents out there will breathe happier knowing this, while young gamers everywhere begin the pout-fests.

And what does Sony have to say on the subject? Nothing yet.

Sorry, kids.

The funny part is that I’ve spent most of my time trying to look at the captions for the kids in the little pic rather than caring about the parental control.

I think the parental control things are nice. Though I just have to wonder how many parents will actually use the feature, and those that do use it, how well will they make use of it?

Haha, too true matt :) The parental control is coming around everywhere now, even on my precious WoW… the problem is of course that parents have no idea that it excists, or how to use it.. at least my parents are technological stonage people :)
