Party a Little With Viva Pinata DS

THQ has announced a special edition of Viva Pinata for the Nintendo DS. Now’s your chance to lovingly pet your pinata animals on the nose!…or, er, poke them in the eye. I won’t judge.

Bob Aniello, THQ’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, is excited about the release. “Nintendo DS is the perfect platform for the Viva Pinata franchise because players can have direct interaction with the environment and their pinatas using the stylus. We are thrilled to introduce Microsoft’s critically-acclaimed Viva Pinata series to an entirely new segment of the gaming community.”

Players will be responsible for turning an abandoned garden into a new Eden fit for gaming’s most lovable party animals. I’ll admit up front that when I’m given the opportunity to name a city, town or garden that’s destined to “flourish,” I always go with “Efrafa.” To me, it’s a name that implies hope, blue skies and oppressive tyranny with controlled reproduction.

Oh boy. Is it autumn yet? I can’t wait to start my garden.
