Patriots sneak past Ravens

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The return of the Squibster. Now the good and the bad. The good is that my most excellent boss and coworkers filled in quite nicely and that is most appreciated.
The bad is the Squibster is diagnosed with Cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. Fear not, they say the cancer is one that is curable, so let us move forward with our dreams of football!
This has gone on long enough. The Patriots must lose.
Alas, they did not, beating the Ravens 27 – 24.
Is it just me or are many of the rest of you getting tired of the Patriots winning games?
It won’t stop too soon with their remaining schedule.
New England is four wins shy of the only 16-0 regular season ever. Remaining after home games with the Steelers, the weak Dolphins and Jets, then a visit to the Giants. source
The Squibster has lost his writer objectivity and finds himself rooting against the Patriots. Last night your gallivanting author was a Ravens fan and not just because my good friend and mentor Aaron B. is a big Ravens fan.
No, your intrepid author did not care who they played, although it would have been sweet justice to see the Ravens with their season lost and being in a big losing streak come up big and strike down the evil forces from New England.
Is it because of Billy Belly Check cheating? Maybe.
Is it because he dresses up in a sweatshirt, hooded at that? Maybe.
Is it because with huge leads in the 4th quarter, the Patriots often go for touchdowns on 4th down instead of kicking field goals? Making it look like they are running up the score and rubbing their opponents face into it? Maybe.
Or maybe it is something else.
Years ago the Miami Dolphins went undefeated and your humble author rooted for them all the way. In spite of my staunch Lions fandom background, it was Dolphins all the way.
Don Shula, one of the best coaches of all time, Bob Griese at QB, Larry Csonka at running back, etc. What a great team. The 1972 Dolphins created fans all over the USA.
The Patriots don’t make me feel that way.
It is more like the Cowboys and declaring themselves America’s team. Most of us resented that.
Later, Terry Bradshaw came along and led the Pittsburgh Steelers to multiple titles and we all loved it. You will still find a lot of old timers that are Steeler fans because of those title years.
The Patriots feel more like the Cowboys.
Patriot fans, before you begin launching your verbal grenades at me, keep in mind everything positive written by me about the Patriots.
Such as
Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Laurence Maroney are all favorite players due mostly to their college proximity to my home base and the fact that they are awesome players.
Maybe the Patriots can lose the next game and make me feel better. How about it?

I like the Patriots, but I really wish they had lost to the Ravens. Baltimore earned that game.
And, was Tom Brady more arrogant than normal in the postgame? His interview struck me as so cocky, which is not normally the case.
I am looking forward to the matchup with the Steelers this Sunday. It should be a good one.
Go Steelers!
