In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a recession on. As a result, many people want to make changes to the way they deal with their personal finance situations. People are looking at their financial habits and thinking that it’s time to take control. So it’s no surprise that a number of software personal finance solutions are popping up to help you do just that. One of those personal finance solutions is offered through Rudder.com.
Personal finance solutions from Rudder.com
I found Rudder.com an interesting personal finance solution. Technology is making it possible to personalize our software and our experiences. The way we manage our finances should be no exception, which is why Rudder is all about making a plan based around what you. Plus, it’s a free service. Some of the things that I like about Rudder include:
- The easy budgeting help.
- The Simple Spend Meter that helps you keep track of your discretionary spending.
- Budget calculator that helps you figure out what is left after your obligations are paid.
- The way Rudder helps you make a plan for using your money going forward, rather than keeping you looking backward to your mistakes. Get over it, make a plan, and move on.
I think that the email alerts might become a little annoying to me. But for someone who is really concerned about getting off track, being nagged about what you’re doing might be helpful — and eye-opening. However, as with other online account tracking tools, I am still a little bit wary about putting all of my account information, logins, etc. in one place, online, for access. I’m kind of old-school that way. It’s part of the reason I’m probably the only personal finance writer not using Mint.com.
Anyway, overall, I think that Rudder is definately a worthwhile personal finance tool. It offers planning, cash flow management tools and even alerts that keep you on the right track. And it’s all for free.

I have been using DesktopBudget.com to manage my personal finances for a few months now. Its the easient to use offline personal finance manager I have seen so far.
