One thing that can increase your earning power:

Get an education.

Obtaining marketable skills can help you get a better paying job. It doesn’t have to be college. It can be a trade or some other skill. But learn how to do something well. And continue to improve your skills and keep up to date throughout your life so that you remain eligible for pay raises and other opportunities. But don’t go crazy. Choose a school or program that you can afford.

In a society that still views — to a certain degree — it as more important that men are educated, getting an education is especially important for women.
