PETA’s Blog Ad Contest Kicks Off

PETA’s brand is well known for being provocative and controversial in its ads. The organization works to protect the rights of animals, and their advertising is usually very effective in capturing people’s attention. Now, PETA is looking to the people to create their next blog ad in a contest that kicked off on September 4th and runs through September 24th.
Anyone can enter the contest here. PETA will choose 10 finalists whose ads will appear on the PETA website on October 8th. Then it will be up to visitors of PETA’s website to choose the final winner who will be announced on October 30th. The winner will get a $500 Apple gift card, and the other nine finalists will each get a $20 Apple gift card. Seems like a small and strange prize, but something is better than nothing.
Will this create a buzz for PETA? It doesn’t seem like there is much of a monetary investment for PETA, so it might be an interesting marketing program if the manpower effort isn’t too time consuming. However, I’m not sure what PETA is really trying to gain from the contest. I’m assuming publicity is a goal, but PETA gets so much publicity, I’m not sure if this contest will be helpful in the grand scheme of things. What do you think?

Here’s one for them:
PETA
“Because Animals are more important
than people…”
Peta are involved in putting down thousands of animals each year. Peta’s brand is hypocrisy, loud and obnoxious yelling and foolishness.
