Peyton and Eli Manning – Quarterback Supremes

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Peyton and Eli Manning New York Post com Peyton vs. Eli, what could be better. The NFL has a plethora of great quarterbacks right now and the Manning brothers are among them.

Peyton has to be the best QB in the league, although there will be some argument from the Tom Brady supporters. Peyton has great touch on the ball whether short pass or long. He exhibits excellent leadership ability and seems to see the whole field at all times. If there is one knock on him, it is the lack of a Super Bowl Ring. This year he may get that ring.

Eli may not be Peyton, but there are plenty of teams that wish he was their quarterback. Only in his third year, believe it or not, he actually threw for more yards than Peyton last year. You can look it up, 3762 to 3747. Hmm, bragging rights.

NFL Football Peyton vs. Eli factoid Peyton is a half an inch taller than Eli.

Your intrepid author could go on and on, with Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger, Delhomme, McNabb, Hassleback, Plummer, Brees, Vick, Bulger, Simms, Culpepper, Green, Leftwich, and of course, Brett Favre! It is certainly a quarterback’s league.

It does not stop there, because three rookies have shown flashes in Matt Leinart, Vince Young, and Jay Cutler. It appears the NFL is stocked for years to come in quarterbacks.

Meanwhile at halftime, Peyton has thrown for 196 yards and a touchdown and Eli has thrown for 150 yards and a touchdown. They also have a commercial airing on several games with their dad, Archie, who also played in the NFL, back in the day.

Wow, a list of 17 strong quarterbacks (which did not include oft-injured but strong yesterday Grossman), not one of which plays for our humble Lions.

Perhaps Drew Stanton, Drew Tate, or Troy Smith will stay in the midwest next fall as the next great hope in Motown…

Manning vs. Manning, class from the start to the finish. I enjoyed the game and the sideline of info leading up to when the whistle blew.

You will find me still crying in my beer over the Lions passing on Leinart and Cutler in the draft.

One look at the Manning brothers and you can see what is missing from the Lions. They are fun to watch.

James – I wanted to thank you for plugging my site last week, but I can’t find your email address anywhere on here…

Peyton and Eli put on a heck of a show last night. Those guys also have strong supporting casts, though, that shouldn’t be overlooked. Eli, in particular, can lean back on Tiki Barber and a productive running attack to keep defenses off balance.

    weaz,
    posted comment to your site.
Eli is a good one isn’t he.
My lions need a good qb.
