Peyton Manning in College

This weekend is thought by many to be the most exciting weekend in football. Of course, there aren’t any college games going on – it is all about the NFL playoffs. (*Insert debate about college ball needing a playoff system here*) I thought it would be fun to look back on the top 8 teams’ quarterbacks. What were they like in college?
Peyton Manning, Indianapolis
We could talk about Manning’s controversial decision to attend Tennessee even though he was heavily recruited as part of the Manning legacy at Old Miss. We could talk about how Manning became an all-time leading passer while at the school and smashed a number of school and SEC records. Or, we could talk about how Manning possibly shoved his ass in a trainer’s face during his junior year? Which would you like to talk about?
Ok, ass story it is.
There are two conflicting versions of this story. Manning says that he was in the locker room and another athlete made a snide remark. So, he mooned him (typical guy). The trainer happened to be in eyesight, which he didn’t realize and he doesn’t understand why she didn’t just laugh it off as a joke.
In the trainer’s version, however, she was kneeling behind him to check a pain in his foot. According to her lawyer, “”entirely unprovoked, Peyton Manning decided to pull down his shorts and sit on Dr. Naughright’s head and face.” She went on to describe how his balls were in her face. I’ll save you the pain.
Of course, Manning really did have some great accomplishments in college. He was the runner-up in the Heisman vote, and was projected to go as the first pick had he not returned for his senior year. He ended up going first the following year instead, and Tennessee has since retired his number.
