Normally I write for Girls Dig Sports, but we bloggers here in the b5 Sports Channel love to collaborate and get involved in each other’s blogs. That’s why I’m guest posting for Inside the Ballpark.

And since I’m a girl who digs sports, and we all know that girls LOVE to gossip, I thought I’d throw out a little baseball rumor and see if it takes off.

Phil Hughes of the Yankees is about an inch away from getting back into the pitching rotation. SI.com is reporting that he’s starting tonight for Triple-A Scranton and that his pitch count is expected to increase over the next two games.

Hughes is still recovering from a fractured rib, but maybe called up to start for Yankees in the very near future since Joba the Hut is now on the DL.

We’ll see if this rumor comes true.

Here’s an interview with Phil from June about his progress.
