Phillip Rivers and the Chargers should have lost more!

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Philip Rivers does the secret Turkey gaggle to ward off bad luck!

Philip RiversIn a topsy turvy way the NFL turns winners into losers and losers into winners.

You would think that teams that were successful for the last quarter of their schedule would be successful the following year.

Turns out that logic is not only wrong, but backwards. Losing games the last quarter of your schedule is a better indicator of future success?!?

Squibster Special Bulletin We interrupt this blog to bring to you the Squibster on Suicide Fan.com at 8:04 am Thursday morning. You will find a special show on the NBA with NBA Expert and High School Referee Mike Keating! (If you miss the Squibster Podcast on Suicide Fan.com, your life will not work out the way you want it to. The Squibster has spoken!)

If it is not 8:04 am Thursday morning yet, then be patient, young one, good podcasts come to one who waits.

Now back to this losing is winning nonsense. How can this be? What the heck is going on here?…

The six teams who swept the final four games of the 2004 or 2005 seasons never created momentum for the upcoming year. In fact, not one team had a better record after finishing up strong. Never assume that one season is connected to the next season in the volatile world of the NFL. Each and every year is a brand-new start for all 32 teams. source

Yikes!

What teams are in the biggest trouble for this year, because of winning last year?

This year, there are three teams who are trying to build some momentum off their 4-0 finishes in 2006. San Diego, Philadelphia and Green Bay all swept their final four opponents and would like to believe it will carry over to 2007. Should they be shocked if the season doesn’t work out as they planned?

So, in the Chargers case, Rivers had better pay heed to this win now lose later jinx! Not that any strange things have ever happened to Rivers.

When Rivers was in kindergarten, he worked as a waterboy at Decatur High School in Decatur, Alabama, where his dad was the head coach of the football team. As part of a fifth-grade project, he had to make a poster about his dreams and aspirations. On the poster, he pasted his face over that of a Minnesota Vikings player who had appeared on a cover of Sports Illustrated. He wears number 17 in honor of his father, Steve, who wore the same number in high school. Rivers has worn it since the ninth grade. source

Wow, my Lions should be going to the Super Bowl every other year!

Special Podcast Note: Do not miss your intrepid author hosting a show on the NBA at 8:04 am Thursday morning for Aaron Brazell on SuicideFan.com. My special guest host is Mike Keating and Mike has some interesting things to say and promises to teach us a few things along the way. (This is your chance to hear the Squibster! The Squibster has spoken!)

Anyway, just between you and me, the Chargers will most likely be awesome this year!!!

NFL Football Fan Question Is this entire number thing a bunch of hooey or is there some logical explanation?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.
