After a lot of buzz and anticipation, Toronto-based PikSpot has launched its social networking service, which encourages the creation of communities where people can share and upload content such as audio, video and images. PikSpot, which is the creation of Scott Waddell and Geoff Norton, got some serious traction when Leo Laporte and Chris Pirillo created a group on PikSpot called UndoTV.

Unless they change their interface a bit this one will likely never be a hit.
Head over to http://www.pikspot.com/ and you get a list with heading tabs at the top. Can’t sort that list though. See an interesting picture of a group. Click it. Nothing happens. Oh it’s not a link to the group just a picture representing the group. Silly me. Click the group name and you get two sidebars and … a blank space in the middle? Oh you have to click a Media icon to see the content.
They have the style and some substance but it is hidden under layers of bad user interface design. Here’s hoping they improve that aspect.
