I’ve always like the options that XM radio offers. I mean, come on! An uncensored variety of all sorts of different music genres, ready at the switch of a button. No scanning in hope to find a channel with something interesting on it. No more wondering what that awesome song was that was just playing, no more guessing what kind of station you’re listening to during a commercial and best of all there are no commercials (I think).

The problem I’ve always had with Satellite radio is the fact that it’s kind of tied down, or was anyway. I didn’t like the idea of installing one in my car if I didn’t drive all that much and I get a lot of the channels through DirecTV when I’m at home and want to listen. But what about those times that I might want to listen while mowing, riding bike, running, etc.? Pioneers GEX-XMP3 takes care of that and then some.

The Pioneer GEX-XMP3 is loaded with features. Here are just a few of them.

  • Enjoy over 170 channels of music, sports, news, talk, entertainment, and exclusive content
  • One-Touch Recording of up to 10 Hours of Individual Songs
  • DVR like feature – pause and replay 30 minutes of live XM
  • Multi Channel Record – up to five channels at the same time

I would love to have this and use it for all the things mentioned previously. Of course if my iPod even had an FM radio that would be cool too. If it had an XM radio built in and I could record programs with it, that would be even better.

The screen is a 2.5 inch, full color, low reflection TFT screen. The battery life will last 4 hours on live XM and 16.5 hours of playback. USB 2.0 compatible and a home kit is included that comes with a home dock, home antenna, RCA cables, USB cable, remote and power adapter. I has 2 gigs of internal storage and is micro-SD compatible.

The Pioneer GEX-XMP3 retails at $229.00 brand new, but I’m sure you can find it for less if you shop around.
