Pitfall: A Classic Action/Adventure Remade
Many a year ago, there was a guy named Pitfall. Pitfall Harry, to be exact, because the name “Pitfall” is horrible at best. This Pitfall Harry character took those old school gaming consoles, like the Atari, and those brick like computers, like the Commodore 64, a step further on the cool side. And I’ll tell you why. Because he could swing. On vines. OVER ALLIGATORS.
Now there have been numerous sequels and remakes for ol’ Pitfall Harry, the first guy I ever swung across a pit, but none have looked as cool as the brand spankin’ new version of the game for the Wii: Pitfall: The Big Adventure. It would seem that Harry gets a complete makeover and well… he kind of looks like a little kid. But a little kid who can lift the weight of his body with his arms alone!
So, will this new version of Pitfall impress the masses? Probably not. Nothing will beat the nostalgia felt at playing the original Pitfall on the Atari. Plus, there are way more games with big guns that you can use to kill hundreds of monsters within an hour! Now THAT’s fun!
