Implementing social media as part of a small business online presence plan is important because it helps you grow your ability to reach your target audience. Having an affective social media plan in place, means that you have incorporated specific things like online networking and communications into your plan.

- Research social media websites to see if you can find groups that will allow you connect with similar business associates and potential customers.
- Think about setting up a fan page or group on your chosen social media networks.
- Reach out to others in other industries to see if you can combine your efforts in social media to cross market and help each other grow your businesses.
- Monitor your efforts in social media to see if you need to make adjustment so that you can improve your efforts in any given area.
These 4 simple tips should help you as you develop your social media plan as a small business owner.
