PlayStation to Become Digital Video Recorder

August 22, 2007 by Ingrid Diaz

ImageSony is armed and ready to take on its rival, Sky, by turning the PS3 into a digital video recorder. The addon, PlayTV, is slated for an early next year release in Europe and will include the current freeview channels.

Programs will be stored in the PS3’s hardrive and played back whenever you want. Better yet, you can even watch them on your PSP.

Sony promises that there will not be a monthly fee, but the set price for PlayTV is still unknown.

This might just make the PS3 worth it for me. Bring on the PlayTV!
