Pointlessy Blasphemous Column Pisses Off Jim Leyland

Jim Leyland’s brother is a priest, Joe Torre’s sister is a nun. Cue worthless column debating for whom God is rooting. Each story is slightly touching human interest story in it’s own right, but they really should be separate stories in the siblings’ respective church newsletter. Jim Leyland takes the proper indignation. His opinion on the story in general:
“Nobody cares.”
The reporter then mentions the storyline with Torre’s sister and God’s rooting interest:
“That’s ridiculous. Let me tell you something. If we win tonight, it won’t be because of God. It’ll be because of Jeremy Bonderman.”
He then proceeded to put his out a cigarette on Doyell. Do not anger Leyland.
