Poker on TV

I am confused about poker on TV.

I continue to like watching it even when I have lost interest temporarily in the game.

I can watch the same episode over and over again with the same interest. I can watch an episode when I know what every turn and river is going to be and who wins. I still like it. I don’t know why. It isn’t that interesting play often. I just watch it.

I have every poker TV show DVD available including 3 seasons of WPT, the 2003 WSOP and a few others on VHS. I’ve also downloaded every episode of High Stakes Poker and watch them like they are candy.

Mostly, though, the guys on these shows are dumb.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi said in an interview that he won’t even respond if people call him Mike anymore. “It’s only The Grinder.” He has an orange tan on his skin and wears too much jewelry and is from Florida and calls himself the Grinder.

Maybe he’s a nice guy.

What is it about watching poker that gratifies something in me? I wish I knew so I could often stop it.
