Poker Strategy For Real Life Sit-N-Gos

I’m headed to Bonerack’s House O’ Poker (my regular in-person poker game) tonight. This time we’re having a double header. We haven’t played back to back tournaments in awhile, but I’m really excited about the prospects of this. My last great run at Bonerack’s was with the shorter tournaments. As I got more accustomed to them, I was a regular champion of the table. We’ll see how I fare tonight.

Obviously the goal is to win both. I honestly feel this is fully within my poker playing ability and I will be very disappointed if I don’t win at least one. I’m playing good right now. I have good vision, reads, timing, and feel for my opponents. I have money for a re-buy in case I get a bad beat or make a wrong move so I should be good to go.

I’m not sure exactly the table count but I’m expecting 6-8 for both games. I am VERY good at 1 table online Sit-N-Gos and as real life poker Sit-N-Gos was my first splash in poker, I am confident my recent play will translate over.

My keys to victory:

  • play loose early, take chances
  • tighten up towards the end
  • apply pressure to smaller stacks
  • when the table has been whittled in half, just try to get headsup with enough chips
  • once I’m in heads-up play, I take it from there

Hopefully that’s mine tonight!
