Political Chat At Interview Chatter

american-flag.jpgAs I was watching CNN this morning I got an idea for my post this morning. As I have said in my political posts regarding the upcoming presidential election, I believe we get to hire the next President of the United States. So as the hiring manager for this very important job, I thought I would ask a question. In order for my post to work, it will require your participation.

What would you like to ask one of the presidential candidates, that would help you determine that they are the best candidate for the job? Remember your vote matters, this is about your one opportunity to interview this candidate. You get one question, what would that question be? Please make sure you include which candidate the question would be directed to… Have fun!!

If you want more on what is happening in the politics, visit One Vote Matters here at B5. It is one of our newer blogs.

  1. Well, I would ask them the following question:

What is the absolute authority for your life? What do you base your decisions on? What authority, resource, or method do you base your life philosophies and decisions on?

    Your reasoning abilities?

    What the people want?

    What works?

    The Bible?

    Another religious book?

    etc.

  2. Miranda says:

    I would ask this question:

What will you do to better develop a green energy economy?

This question has dire implications on the future, from the economic costs of oil consumption, to safety involved in coal mining, to the quality of the air we breathe (health). This affects nearly all aspects of life.

  3. What a great take on the elections!

My question: Why do you want this job?

I’m so tired of hearing why the other one isn’t the right candidate. Who cares? I want to hear what’s important to each of them personally, what their motivations are.

  4. Brad Shorr says:

To Obama, how do you plan to unite the country when your voting record is at an extreme?

  5. Brent says:

What is your policy towards the long term investment into schools, roads, hospitals, media and other infrastructure in Afghanistan – with a view to winning the masses ideologically, educating them, and preventing the exports that have resulted from Afghanistan’s poverty and isolation – mainly opium production for the black market, and religious extremism?

  6. Adam, Miranda, Jennifer, Brad, Brent – Thank you for visiting Interview Chatter and leaving a question for the presidential candidates!

I am weary of the distractions the media seems to thrive on that takes this political season off topic.

My question for each of the candidates: If given a choice between life and death which would you choose and why?

You may think, well that’s an easy question and the answer is obvious, but not so. There is a deeper question in the question. Any thoughts? I may share my thoughts on this question in an upcoming post. Hmmmm.

  7. Miki says:

I’d paraphrase Brent’s question and ask, “What is your policy towards the long term investment into schools, roads, hospitals, media and other infrastructure in the US.”

  8. Hi Miki! Thanks for visiting Interview Chatter. I like your paraphrased question. Thanks for stopping by.
