Political Chat At Interview Chatter – PA Primary

The Pennsylvania Primary is today and Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama are in the hunt for the Democratic Nomination. As I have said in the past, the election process is our opportunity to act as hiring managers and hire the best candidate for the job. I wonder what criteria people use to select the best candidate in PA. What do you think? How do you decide who to vote for? Or using my analogy, who to hire to run this country? The primary in PA is a big deal today. Why? Because, I betcha it will help to clarify who the candidate will be for the Democrats and move us closer to a national campaign for both parties.
Here are two recommendations for you if you live in PA:
1. Get out and vote! Every vote does count.
2. Make a good decision, based on some relative criteria (Character, Competency to do the job, Credibility)
I am an undecided voter at this point. Good thing I don’t have to vote today. These are my thoughts on these two candidates at this stage of the game.
Hilary Clinton: I actually believe that she would make a good President. I wouldn’t vote for her because I don’t want Bill Clinton in the white house again. The fact is, Bill Clinton is a huge issue for me. Hilary means Bill Clinton is back and I had enough of him while he was in the White House. I also do not trust Hilary Clinton. Her Bosnia story was not a mis-step. She did not mis-speak. Let me temper this comment by saying, that I do believe people can mis-speak, but in this case, I don’t believe it. As far as the issues, I don’t agree with her position on the war, I am not all that confident in her ability to solve that very large problem. Hilary is a politician and as much as she claims to care about the people who are most in need, in this country, I am not so sure I buy that either.
Barak Obama: The jury is still out on him too. He is very charismatic. He is smart, and he very likeable. What I like about him is that he doesn’t have a lot of baggage. He is fresh, and capable. Where my hesitancy comes in – is more in my gut than anything. There are deeper waters with this man. There is more behind him than we see with the naked eye. I know that may sound a little intangible. But my gut says there is more to find out about him before we “hire” him as President of the US. I don’t agree with his perspective on the war either. I do believe he is capable of running this country well. I believe he will represent this country well, but he doesn’t have my vote yet either.
There is a lot more I could say, but how about you, what do you think about these candidates?
