Post for the holiday weekend
Well it’s officially the weekend thanks to it being Easter and all.
So to celebrate both a 4-day weekend and the launch of this brand spanking new b5 blog (if that weren’t enough), I thought I’d do the obvious thing, and explain the Rules of Cricket.
- You have two sides: One out in the field and one in.
- Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
- When they are all out the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
- Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
- When both sides have been in and out including the not outs,
- That’s the end of the game.
All clear? Questions? Have a great weekend. :)

Crystal…
shattered crystal. :)
Hahaha. I’m sure they’ll appreciate this enlightening tip! :)
The rules of cricket in 6 points !!! ;-)
HeHe, if only!
“Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
When they are all out the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out. ”
WTF?!!!!
That’s like…
You win a swimming race by first not swimming, and then swimming until you’re not swimming anymore. The race is over when nobody’s swimming. Even if people are still in the pool.
:p
Man, my head was spinning trying to make sense of the point Jeremy cited above. I’ve been trying to understand cricket for years now, and I just discovered that all I needed was someone to point it out to me verbally.
Maybe a video “tutorial” might help greatly? I mean, it’s a lot lot easier to understand than written text. :-)
I can imagine it now… Matt in front of the camera making gestures to “teach” how Cricket is played. Oh, joy. Heehee.
I do a mean Geoffrey Boycott impression… ;)
What does it mean when they say the bowler made the bal talk
Most likely they were referring to a very good delivery, such that they did something extraordinary with the ball… like making it talk…
Seems quite interesting.
