I remember it wasn’t more than a year ago when I was searching for an alternative for the expensive and hard to come by Basstrix when an insider at a largely know on-line tackle store told me about a new bait that was not yet available to the public. It was the Money Minnow made by Money Lures. I contacted Fred Ward (owner of Money Lures) and had gotten a hold of a few. Great swim bait!
Today it was announced at the YUM display during the Expo that Pradco (owner of Yum) has purchased the marketing rights to the Money Minnow. More information will be set to release next week following the Classic.

Interesting strategy to compete againts Pure Fishing & Strike King that are launching their Paddle Tail minnows this month. Probably cheaper to acquire then to do the R&D and invest in the equipment…
I agree. In looking at new Berkley Hollow belly though, the action of that bait is almost a dead on shadow of the Basstrix. Pradco will have to do some tweaking in order compete I think. I was unaware that Strike King was expected to be releasing a soft bodied swimbait.
yeah, supposedly Tackle Warehouse & others had them at the Classic Expo, its called the Shadalicous, it even comes in Sexy Shad!!

Yeah, I think I heard something about that as well, Rich. I’m still trying to figure out who gets to name these baits, though!
If you haven’t seen our Silly Bunny and Silly Rabbit you should try them!!!
Poor Boy’s Baits
I actually got a couple packs of the Strike King Shadalicous, and they are exactly the same as the LuckEStrike Bass Magics, same package, just different printing and slightly different color schemes on the baits, very dissapointing, all the more reason to stick with BassTrix!!!
Kim,
I got ahold of the silly rabbit’s at the Richmond Fishing Expo in January. It has some great action. I will definitely have it tied on throughout the year. I will let you know what king of success I have had and any other opinions on the bait throughout the year.
Rich,
Sorry to hear that. I know it’s tough when you spend the money for baits now a days just to end up being disappointed.
