Praized Raises $1M

Montreal-based Praized Media Inc. has raised $1-million of seed financing from Garage Ventures Technology Canada.

Praized has been in stealth mode but it has now revealed itself to be “a social media company developing software that connects blogs, social networks, and local search in ways never seen before”.

At the very least, it’s encouraging to see a seed round done in Canada. Simply put, there’s not enough of this kind of investing taking place at a time when Canada’s entrepreneurial landscape is starting to get more interesting. Look at the standing room-only turn out last night for DemoCamp14 in Toronto for an indication of what’s happening.
