Daisuke Matsuzaka, welcome to the big leagues. You’re about to get paid. The old, pitching depleted Yankees are desperate. Steinbrenner is losing his mind and you are a highly touted pitching prospect which will be awarded to the highest bidder. You had a 2.16 ERA and over 200 strikeouts. Seriously, you’re going to be set for life. Yankee fans will start to froth in anticipation. Expectations might be a little high, just ask Hideki Irabu. Everything’s going to work out fine though, even if you end up sucking. Which is probably likely. I mean, there’s no way. It’s the Yankees. They have a long history of expensive foreign pitchers being extreme disappointments. (See Hideki Irabu, Jose Contreras etc.) But still, P-A-I-D! No worries man.
