President Barack Obama on Jay Leno

President Barack Obama went on Jay Leno last night to talk about the economy. It was an interesting interview. What I liked best, though, was the way President Obama realistically pointed out that there is no quick fix for this economy.

Watch the Jay Leno interview with Barack Obama, if you have time, or just listen to the president’s remarks about the economy. What do you think of President Obama’s handling of the economy so far?

One Response to “President Barack Obama on Jay Leno”

The Bush administration unfolded like a Greek tragedy and so far the Obama administration looks like pure slapstick comedy. We have the dance of the tax cheats, the gaffe-a-matic Joe Biden, the bumbling Robert Gibbs, the Imperial Congress telling the President what to do, pseudo transparency, the political assassinations of citizen critics by beating them over the head with a rubber chicken, the self-adulation with the teleprompter as the star of the show… it just goes on and on.

What I’d like to see is more Profiles in Courage, and less fizz and fawning. More leadership and less “I’m your buddy, plus I’m cute and good-looking, so please like me.” TARP is a mess, TALF is a dud, the porkulus bill a gigantic flushing sound of taxpayer money. The deficits are so breathtaking even the ChiComs are lecturing us about responsible spending… and they are communists! So, no, I don’t have any warm fuzzies that this President and the Imperial Congress have a clue or even give a damn about the long-term consequences of what they are doing.
