Profiles in Courage.
Senator John F. Kennedy, while re-cooperating from major back surgery wrote the book Profiles in Courage, chronicling the courageous acts of 8 senators who risked their (respective) careers to promote their ideals. The book won the Pulitzer Prize in 1957. And in 1989 the Kennedy family created the “Profile in Courage Award” which is given each year to the public official (or team there of) who “best demonstrate the qualities of politically courageous leadership in the spirit of Profiles in Courage.” Senator Kennedy has served on the Award Committee since the award’s creation. Among past recipients is Senator John McCain (R-AZ).
Today on the Business Channel we’re doing a blog off. In celebration of summer solstice, several bloggers will be posting every hour for 24 hours. Our goal? To do something good and supportAccion International.

hi Maddy keep the candle burning. interesting article on the Kennedys, who I find endlessly facinating, as do many. Not such a John mc Pain fan, or Obama fan for that matter. But I’m not American so I can’t vote anyway. Tough call. Thanks for the pun.
