Protect yourself: Use that old PC

Some of you may have old PC’s lying around, and some of them would probably be in good working condition. One good idea when testing new programs, visiting unfamiliar websites or doing anything that may jeopardize the stability and data of your primary PC is to have that secondary PC do all the testing for you. If something goes wrong, at least your precious hardware/data isn’t compromised.

You dont even need a second monitor, keyboard and mouse as KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch solutions are aplenty. This not only saves space but also allows you to do more at any given time.

There’s a good chance that you have an old PC lying around. Instead of letting it go to seed, turn it into a guinea pig for running new software, visiting unfamiliar Web sites, and performing other tasks that might otherwise leave your primary PC plagued with viruses, corrupt files, or other problems. You don’t have to use a second monitor, and if you have a network, you don’t even have to make extra room for the case on your desk. All you need are a keyboard-video-mouse switch, and two software programs.
