PS3 Shortages Possible

No surprise there.

Sony Computer Entertainment America’s president, Kaz Hirai, stated in an interview with GameSpot that he thinks, “it’s going to be very much of a challenge to be able to meet every single unit demand that’s out there in the market. That’s just a logistical impossibility.”

Well, sure it is, if you haven’t even started production yet.

I guess Sony felt left out of the Xbox 360 OMGGOTTAHAVEITNOW craze, and needs to remedy the situation this upcoming holiday season. It will make life easy for me reporting the news, then. I’ll just copy and paste all my old articles about the Xbox 360 shortages and change the name.

Thank you, Sony.

Anyone care to wager how much they’ll be going for on eBay?

    Someone can have mine…

What’s the bet Sony has a pretty good idea of how many units they will need to meet demand, and will artificially keep supply below that number.

Thak keeps the distributors happy too, as they can keep the price at the full RRP.

This despite their scoffing at Microsoft and their proud assurances that there would be more than enough PS3 for all…
