Allows me to work from home or the bookstore. Do heavy Work for 4 hours in the late afternoon early evening. Have a 3 day work week if I want to. Be financially abundant. Sleep til 10 and travel as often as I like.

That's a good way to see it, Jean. Easy to measure.

Thanks for your input, Ren. It's nice that your definition of a dream job also includes work-life balance.

My dream job:
1 pays enough to settle all obligations & leaves some for taxes & a retirement plan
2 has pleasant people to work with
3 leaves time for family & friends and for smelling the roses
4 carries some prestige
5 makes a difference in the company & the community.

If the dream job has stress within in tolerable / manageable limits, then I will have achieved a Work - Life balance.

A good balance for me would be a four-day workweek. Then I could get all the 'stuff' (groceries, laundry, cleaning) done in one day and still have two to do what I want.
