Q: How do you print screen on Mac OS X? – Carine
A: Well Carine, it’s quite simple actually. Press Shift+Apple Key+3 and that will capture your screen and save it on your desktop. The default filename is Picture 1.
There’s another command, Shift+Apple Key+4 this will turn the mouse pointer into a cross hair and you can use this to select the portion of the screen that you want to capture. It will save it the same way with the full screen capture stated above.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer!
Is there a way to capture a typical “rounded corners” MacOS 10.4.9 window without loosing those “transparent” corners?
The “Shift+Apple Key+4″ method doesn’t help me capture the rounded cornered windows correctly (it’s all squares)!
Sorry, I don’t have that answer for you. Let me try looking into that.
Great shortcut! Thanks, Juan!
